Fascism is Not Fun
Fascism is Not Fun
Fury functioning as farcical fastidiousness
As goose-steppers find their way downtown
Sidewalks littered with muscle in military garb
Citing pedestrians for nonexistent crimes
Immigrants and citizens alike in cross-haired
Suspicion like disease like corruption like rot
Murdering trust, society, civilization, love
Insisting on a nonexistent righteousness
Symptomatic of a stretched rubber band
Nearly ready to snap, to pop, to crack under
Overwhelming pressure, a center that cannot hold
Total breakdown of the sinews of beleaguered humanity
Fascists fear change they cannot control
Unsung heroes whisper and rant into the wind
No one hearing or heeding the storm of song
