Notes from the Post-it Wall | Week of May 25, 2025

by David Himmel

• I was asked the other day if I am good with I am. Most of the time, I think, yes. Sometimes, I think I’m somewhere in between. On occasion I think I’m as far from good as the devil himself. Emotions are multi-polar.

• I wonder if it’s going to be awkward for Joe Biden when he dies. He’s a practicing Catholic, so I assume he believes in heaven. Let’s also assume he’ll go to heaven. (I know, I know, a lot of you think he’s a monster-criminal, but chill. He’s not Henry Kissinger.) So, he dies, goes to heaven and gets to see his first wife, his daughter, and his son Beau. Great. What a reunion. But then his second wife, Jill, dies and she goes to heaven. Pretty soon, Biden’s heaven has turned into hell because he has two dead wives to deal with. Awkward, right?

• Don Hall is the greatest birthday backyard BBQ grill master. Book him for your celebration today!

• Just because life’s happenings don’t fit into your presumed narrative, doesn’t mean you should villainize people. Life doesn’t care about your narrative. Heed the advice a therapist once told me: “Stop scripting the future. You cannot control everyone or everything, only yourself.”

• Emotions can be so depressing.

• In all of my major romantic relationships, I have shown my partner my absolute best and my absolute worst. I’m a generous lover.
