Notes from the Post-it Wall | Week of September 28, 2025

by David Himmel

• You are immortal until you’re not.

• There is no peace that comes with accepting that you will never have peace of mind.

• The flu/covid can be a gift when the thing you need most is to take a beat and rest your feeble mind and weary bones.

• Life’s only guarantee is that time will pass. There is no guarantee that prayers will be answered, dreams will be achieved, retribution will be bestowed, justice will be served, or happiness will be a constant. Best we can do is keep our clocks set and try to meet time where it’s at.

• Funny how one way to fight off depression is to revisit hard times in history.

• Life has its rhythms. Often, they feel like the rhythms set by a cokehead jazz drummer about to crash.
